Borkovec, Michal, Dr.


Michal Borkovec Michal Borkovec received his PhD in Chemistry at Columbia University in 1986, and thereafter was working as a lecturer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. In 1998, he was appointed as an associate professor at Clarkson University, and was promoted to a full professor in the year 2000. He moved to Geneva shortly thereafter, where he was also working as full professor. He retired in summer 2021. His research group is now dissolved.

His main research focus was physical chemistry of colloids, surfaces, and polymers. He is also interested in applications of these topics in environmental engineering and industrial process control. He was a member of the Swiss National Research Council and Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences. He is recepient of the Graham Prize.
